The Book of Life

The Bible tells us that God has prepared a book called “The Book of Life” and that no one can enter the heavenly city except those whose names are written in that book. (Revelation 21:27)

The Bible was written to tell us how we can know that our name is written there .The Apostle John wrote, “These things have I written unto you …that ye may know that you have eternal life.” (1 John 5:13)

The Lord Jesus Christ came into the world for this purpose. He said, “ I am come that they might have life and that they might have it more abundantly.” (John 10:10)

He came, not just to give us eternal existence, but a new kind of life, a full life, an abundant life that lasts forever.

That's good news, isn't it?

It is wonderful to know that if you should awaken in eternity tomorrow, you would be in heaven and with the Lord forever. It is also wonderful to experience the life He came to give right here and now, and we can. The Bible tells us there are only four things we need to know to experience this life he came to give us and to be sure of heaven.

The first is a problem we all have.

1) The problem of sin.

Now let's see how that gift can be yours.

3) Christ has paid the penalty

We have looked at the problem of sin, the penalty for sin and that Christ has paid the penalty, now let us look at the promise.

4) God's promise

Just tell Him what is on your heart, Trust your soul to Him and open your life to receive Christ into your life. You may say something like this;

“Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner and there is nothing I can do to save myself. I believe you bore my sins when you died on the cross. And now I transfer all my trust to you to be my personal Lord and Savior. Lord Jesus, with all my heart I receive you into my life. Change my heart and make me the person you want me to be. I thank you for saving me. I am yours forever

Amen.
